As a tall and slender ectomorph,
\nhe was never an easy gainer of
\nmuscle mass, but as a hard gainer
\nhe had modest success and
\n16 inch arms with bulging biceps
\nwhen he was a skinny but strong
\nteenage kid.<\/p>\n
But now as an old man who has
\nworked out all his life, that
\nunforgiving sarcopenia has stripped
\nhim of his past muscles gains.<\/p>\n
And though he works out steadfastly,
\npumping up his muscles three times
\na week, his muscles have become
\nnonresponsive, and he looks like a
\nskinny old man who never had any
\nmuscles and never worked out.<\/p>\n
But at an age when many of his
\npeers are on walkers or in nursing
\nhomes, he\u2019s still stronger than he
\nwould have been if he never
\ntouched a weight or worked out.
\nAnd he feels fantastic when he
\nworks out despite the lack of
\nresults.<\/p>\n
More importantly, working out
\nmakes him feel more alive and
\nincredibly relaxed, and that
\nalone is worth the iron willed
\nunfaltering effort.<\/p>\n
