When I first heard the saying,
\n“No good deed goes unpunished,”
\nit seemed so contrary to all I\u2019d
\nknown: Good deeds beget good
\nfeelings and good merit.<\/p>\n
Even religions expose the value
\nand the merit of good deeds.<\/p>\n
But I have seen many cases
\nsince hearing that saying
\nwhere good deeds were punished:<\/p>\n
When I lived in Vermont,
\na woman who lived in
\nBurlington, Vermont
\nalways invited homeless
\npeople into her home to
\nconsole and feed them.<\/p>\n
For her kindness, she
\neventually was sliced
\nto pieces by a crazed,
\nhomeless psycho.<\/p>\n
Two young ministers
\ngave three men a ride
\nout of kindness. The men
\nkidnapped the ministers
\nat gunpoint, shot
\nthem to death and
\nstole their money
\nand their car.<\/p>\n
I could cite many more
\nexamples, some my
\nown, but as you can
\nsee and probably knew,
\nsometimes good deeds
\ndo get punished.<\/p>\n
My final take on this
\nis do good deeds, but
\nbe careful in doing
\nthem.<\/p>\n
