I liked<br>\nit. It sounded mystically romantic<br>\nto me.<\/p>\n<p>As if the heart was a separate entity<br>\ncapable of making romantic choices<br>\nsuperior to the mind\u2019s wants<\/p>\n<p>But, alas, the heart may know what<br>\nit wants, but as many relationships<br>\nbear out,<\/p>\n<p>what the heart wants may not<br>\nalways be good for a person\u2019s<br>\npeace of mind.<\/p>\n<p>In some cases not good for a<br>\nperson\u2019s life. <\/p>\n<p>My heart has led me astray a number<br>\nof times causing me to not listen to<br>\nmy mind and make less than ideal<br>\nchoices. <\/p>\n<p>I recall my heart wanting a beautiful<br>\nblonde haired women with a sweet<br>\nSouthern accent, who lived far away<br>\nfrom me<\/p>\n<p>and leaving a good job and moving<br>\nhundreds of miles away to be with her<\/p>\n<p>because my heart wanted true love<br>\nmore than a job.<\/p>\n<p>And my heart told me I could always<br>\nfind another job, and true love was<br>\nmore important, and you don\u2019t get<br>\nopportunities for real love as often<br>\nas you can find a job.<\/p>\n<p>In the end the blonde haired<br>\nSouthern beauty stole money out<br>\nof my ATM machine and was<\/p>\n<p>writing romantic letters to some<br>\nmarried guy, and my heart had<br>\nled me astray. <\/p>\n<p>And what my heart had wanted<br>\nkind of made a fool out of me.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps for you what your heart<br>\nwanted worked out, but maybe you<br>\nhave a smarter heart than I<br>\ndo. <\/p>\n<p>And, probably, more accurately,<br>\nbetter intuition about matters<br>\nconcerning the heart. <\/p>\n<p>Bob Boyd <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First time I heard the saying, the heart knows what it wants.
