I\u2019ve come a long way from
\nwhen you knew me
\nloved me and left me
\nwhen I was
\na confused and screwed
\nup teenage kid<\/p>\n
hanging out in a pool hall
\ngetting kicked out of
\nhigh school<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve expanded my life and
\nmy mind in ways I don\u2019t
\nthink you could have ever
\nimagined<\/p>\n
In ways I never could
\nhave imagined<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve exceeded what my
\nhigh school teachers
\nthought was a doomed
\nfuture for me<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve gained wisdom from
\nthe East and the West
\nand seen the Inner Light<\/p>\n
Despite those boasts
\nsometimes I wonder how
\nyour life went<\/p>\n
and if you became the
\nnurse you wanted to
\nbe<\/p>\n
and if you\u2019re still living
\nand breathing upon
\nthis planet<\/p>\n
or dead and buried in
\nthe cold dark ground<\/p>\n
I doubt we\u2019ll meet in
\nthe afterlife as soul
\nfriends <\/p>\n
but it might be cool
\nif we did<\/p>\n
