\ni was nothing like i am now<\/p>\n
no seeking in me
\njust living life
\nas it came my way<\/p>\n
no questioning the
\npurpose of it<\/p>\n
no intellectual
\nspeculations<\/p>\n
but i did seem to have
\nsome logic in me <\/p>\n
once a christian kid
\nbefriended me
\nbut with an ulterior
\nmotive<\/p>\n
his friendship was
\nabout proselytizing<\/p>\n
to win my soul
\nfor his religion<\/p>\n
he said if you
\ndo not follow jesus
\nyou go to hell<\/p>\n
i said what if natives
\nliving on an island
\nnever saw a missionary
\nor heard about jesus<\/p>\n
would god send them
\nto hell because of
\ntheir ignorance of
\njesus
\nit made no sense to me<\/p>\n
now i believe that
\nthe absolute in it\u2019s
\ninfinite mercy
\nwould manifest in
\nthe minds of those
\nnatives in another way<\/p>\n
for example<\/p>\n
if those natives believed
\na mountain was god
\ni believe the absolute
\nin its infinite mercy
\nwould manifest through
\nthat mountain to the natives
\ntheir mystics would have
\nconfirming visions
\nand the natives would
\nbecome firm believers<\/p>\n
furthermore i believe that
\nthe ancient gods were
\nconduits to the divine
\nand that the absolute
\nhonored that<\/p>\n
