I swore I\u2019d never use self service checkouts;
\nthey put people out of work.
\nBut I failed in my noble intentions.
\nGot tired of standing in lines.
\nGot hooked on the convenience.
\nGot seduced by the speed.
\nOut in minutes, occasionally seconds,
\nno waiting in long lines.
\nAnd sometimes there are no cashiers
\nand you only have the self service checkouts.<\/p>\n
I even go to a grocery store a little further away
\nthan one near me, the checkouts are less busy,
\nand they have more of them.
\nThank God I\u2019m retired because someday
\na self service machine probably would have
\nput me out of work too.<\/p>\n
