She delivered my Amazon delivery
\ntoday<\/p>\n
She placed it in the wrong but
\nokay location<\/p>\n
I didn\u2019t see it in the right place,
\nso I came out of my apartment building<\/p>\n
to look for it and saw her, a beautiful
\nyoung African American woman in her Amazon truck<\/p>\n
I asked her politely where the delivery was
\nshe said up the flight of stairs in front of the door <\/p>\n
(that is the back door up those stairs to the
\nhallway in which my apartment is located) <\/p>\n
she said she couldn\u2019t get the code to work
\nat the front door<\/p>\n
so she hiked up the back stairs and left
\nthe package there, close enough 👍<\/p>\n
she offered to get the package and bring
\nit to me<\/p>\n
I said no need, easier for me to just open
\nthe back door<\/p>\n
and I don\u2019t want you to have to go back
\nup those stairs again<\/p>\n
I said thank you for the delivery, and
\nshe smiled such a wonderful smile<\/p>\n
I said I like your hat (a beautiful orange
\nhat that looked great)<\/p>\n
she smiled and said I like your hat
\ntoo, (a burgundy Gatsby hat)<\/p>\n
in that brief moment, that fleeting exchange,
\nshe looked absolutely beautiful to me<\/p>\n
I felt there was even greater beauty in her
\nand goodness in her soul <\/p>\n
for a fanciful moment, I briefly thought how wonderful
\nit would have been to be young and with her.<\/p>\n
