Every night he lingers there,
the stairway she fell and died on,
hoping to see or hear from her.
He feels her spirit returns to the
stairway at night when all is dark.
He holds a candle in his hand,
and he believes the candle will
summon her there from the dead.
But night after night no signs from
her, and he wonders if his broken
heart and his life will ever mend.
