Today I learned my first love
died of cancer at age 71
she left me after two summers
when I was seventeen
and though I didn’t pine over her
when it’s over I’m over it
I was sad to learn she died of
cancer at age 71
at least she was married and
had a family
and probably a good life and
71 is a reasonably long life
