I remember as a kid I was told if you prayed
to God you would get things
maybe I misunderstood what I was told
but I think I prayed for a pony I never got
and I think I prayed for a few other things
at different times
and, not surprisingly, my prayers were
never answered
I still don’t believe you can get things
by praying for them
but I do feel prayer is a good way to
connect to the God in the heavens
