She drained him of all his vigor
She seemed to thrive on drama
He read couples were healthier
Than solo singles but doubted it
Based on his tensions with her
Yet he just couldn’t leave her
And she just couldn’t leave him
Better miserable than lonely
After hundreds of arguments
And sky-high levels of stress
He died of Stage IV cancer
Done at age forty-three
