The Commoner

He never cared for snobbery.
He disliked being labeled a commoner.

But he liked the king and the queen.
They were humble.
They were caring
of the people they served
and seemed to truly love.

Despite being royalty,
they never allowed their titles
or their royal rank
to amplify their egos.

They never acted superior
or dismissive of even
those thought to be
the commonist of commoners
that other commoners
thought they were better than
because they were to them
lowly farm hands and laborers
just like him.
