An Old Man Gets Muscle Gains No More

He does resistance band curls for three sets
and does curls with dumbbells for three more
three times a week, yet he gets no gains.

His biceps have shrunken with age, and he
can’t pump them back up.

He does squats with resistance bands for three sets
and with dumbbells for three more
three times a week, yet he gets no gains.

His legs muscles have also shrunken with age
and he can’t pump them back up either.

He could take Testosterone Replacement Therapy, shots every week and get muscled up like a far younger man,
but to him it’s not worth the risk of heart attacks and strokes,
and he doesn’t want to take those TRT shots every week.

But despite his lack of any progress in his attempts to maintain muscle mass, and sarcopenia paring down the muscles he had from decades of working out, he keeps plugging away
three times a week six sets of curls and six sets of squats.
