Beautiful but Volatile

Serena was more beautiful
Than any woman I’d ever known,
But beneath her stunning beauty
She was extremely volatile,
And she wrecked my life.
She thought I’d cheated on her
With a next door neighbor,
A lady I had no attractions for
And only talked to one time.
Couldn’t talk Serena out of
Her unwarranted suspicion,
her insane green-eyed jealousy.
She burned down both our houses.
The neighbor died in the flames,
And I was permanently disabled.
Serena pleaded insanity and
Escaped a life sentence.
And it seems a sacrilege
How beautiful and volatile
Existed in her together.
