Beguiled by a Gaelic Muse

A fairy known as Leanan Sidhe
came to me in the night
took me for her lover

too beautiful for any mortal man
to ever resist I succumbed
to her irresistible desires

With a single consummation
she became my muse
and I a barely literate man
was gifted with the ability
to write poetry

But alas I learned that
though she is beautiful
beyond all mortal women
she is a malignant fairy
that soon will kill me

Despite knowing she is
going to take my life
I cannot escape
her unbreakable deadly grip
on my beating heart
my dwindling life

her incomparable beauty
her supernatural love
keep me entrapped
in her deathly embrace

and maybe I’ve gone mad
and lost all my senses
but I will gladly surrender
my life to my Leanan Sidhe
and be in love with her forever
