He was charming at first
said all the right things
to woo her heart.
Unknown to her, he was
setting a trap.
Not long after the trap
was sprung and she
fell in love with him
he became controlling
and physically abusive.
She suffered his mental
and physical abuse for
over a tormented year.
Battered and beaten
down, she feared
leaving him.
He had told her
he’d hunt her down
and kill her if she
did.
Trapped and almost
killed when he smashed
her head against
a kitchen wall and
gave her a concussion
she became enraged
one night as he slept
and grabbed a kitchen
knife and stabbed him
to death.
Maybe it was murder,
but I’d call it self defense.

Started writing poetry a little over a year ago; most poems I write are fictional but some are not. Spiritual with a permanent spiritual experience. Write poems on many subjects. Always researching for many of my poems and because of my unquenchable thirst for knowledge. After reading and hearing about many near death experiences and death bed visions, I believe death is the ultimate awakening and the relocation of a lifetime. You may believe differently, but you have the right to be wrong -- I'm just messing with you. :-)
