I remember seeing him as a child when
he seemed like one of God’s angels.
Everyone said he was a sweet and
good kid.
He stayed good all through school,
honors and a perfect student.
Not surprisingly, he became a priest,
made his Catholic family proud.
Three years later, he got arrested
for sexually abusing children
in his parish, and nobody who knew
him could believe it until
all the witnesses came forth and
gave irrefutable testimonies that
got him defrocked and sent to prison
for many years.
And remembering how innocent and
good he was as a child, I couldn’t
figure out how he grew up to be a
serial sexual predator.
