Hey God

Hey God, got a question for you.
Why so much killing in this world?
Weeds killing plants.
Insects killing insects.
Some insects killing birds.
And all the way up the chain
Wholesale killings everywhere.
Survival of the fittest it is said.
But why all these slaughters
As if you approved of them?
What about the carnage
Even in the cosmos
Black holes devouring stars?
Is all this mumble jumble
Peace and love talk just
Nonsense in a world
That feeds on killings
For creation to survive?
Excuse me if these questions
Are inconvenient or out of place,
But in all honesty, I’d ask you
Them face to Face.

A Poor Girl’s Big Break

I remember that last night I saw you,
And you blew me a sweet kiss goodbye
And said you were so excited to see me again
Until that rich kid asked you out and you left me.
And I lost all my respect and love for you.
I knew his love them and leave them reputation,
But you thought you could change his user ways.
You thought you were something that special,
Even though you came from a poor family like me
And didn’t realize how he didn’t value you.
You were only just another nice body to use.
He didn’t see you as special enough for him
Because you came from that poor family.
After he got what he wanted and left you,
You came crying back to me apologizing,
Your virginity and my love lost forever.

Lucky Rebecca

Bad things only happen to other people.
That’s what Rebecca thought that night
She drank too much at that bar in Idaho.
Her friends and her all got crazy drunk
And stumbled to their cars while Rebecca
Stayed at the bar and drank some more
Until the bar was ready to close down
And everyone had to leave the bar.
Rebecca lived three blocks from the bar.
As she struggled to make her way home
Too intoxicated to walk a straight line,
A man in a black car offered her a ride.
The man looked safe, Rebecca got in.
Just as the serial killer was about to
Restrain her, a drunk driver driving
Over a 100 miles an hour slammed
Into his car killing him and knocking out
Rebecca who woke up in a hospital,
Unaware she was better off there than dead.
