Death in Three Months

Twenty eight, mother of two
Diagnosed with colon cancer
In three months she’ll be dead
She bravely accepts her fate
But wonders why her
Why does she have to die
At so young an age
A kind and caring woman
With a husband and kids
While others go on living
She tries to stay positive
And believe God has a
Greater plan for her
But it’s a hard sell

A Common Plight

Elderly and low income
They huddled under their blankets
In the freezing winter night
They couldn’t afford the high costs
of heating their small Apartment
Temperatures fell below zero
The blankets not enough to
Keep away the deadly cold
Hypothermia assailed them
In the morning they were dead
