Liking a Female Backup Singer in an Old Song Video Way too Much

He sees the female backup singer in the 1979 song Makin’ It in a YouTube video.

He finds himself liking her long, blondish hair, almost down to her waist, her trim, petite figure, her green blouse, and her form fitting black slacks.

He likes the way she dances, her legs moving from side to side, the way she sings, and the sweetly pleasing sound of her lovely voice.

He realizes he has developed a crush on her and is foolishly imagining that love would have been perfect being with her.

He is in denial about the fact she is 47 years older now than in the video and might not still be alive and no longer looks the way she did back then.

When that reality dawns on him, he gets more irrational and chooses to think that maybe his obsession is a sign that when he dies he might be with her,

which might explain why he is so foolishly attracted to her and what is no longer her, but he fails to realize he cannot see the most important part of her; i.e. her brain,

meaning even if his attraction had ever materialized he might not have been compatible with her or she might have been too difficult to get along with or all about the money.

When the video ends, he gets a reprieve and returns to normalcy – until the next time he watches that video and becomes unrealistically captivated with her all over again.

A Flower and One

The flower grew up out of the earth,
spent its adolescent days rising
toward its god, the Sun.
When it reached adulthood,
it spread its petals joyously,
receiving blessings from the rain
and grace from the Sun
and sprouting seeds as offerings
to its god, earth, and nature
as if they were all One.

An Old Man Gets Muscle Gains No More

He does resistance band curls for three sets
and does curls with dumbbells for three more
three times a week, yet he gets no gains.

His biceps have shrunken with age, and he
can’t pump them back up.

He does squats with resistance bands for three sets
and with dumbbells for three more
three times a week, yet he gets no gains.

His legs muscles have also shrunken with age
and he can’t pump them back up either.

He could take Testosterone Replacement Therapy, shots every week and get muscled up like a far younger man,
but to him it’s not worth the risk of heart attacks and strokes,
and he doesn’t want to take those TRT shots every week.

But despite his lack of any progress in his attempts to maintain muscle mass, and sarcopenia paring down the muscles he had from decades of working out, he keeps plugging away
three times a week six sets of curls and six sets of squats.

The Constant Compulsion to be Loved

Why at 80 am I still so afflicted with the constant compulsion
to be loved?
Though it’s infrequent now compared to it being incessant
in my youth.
And why oh why did God implant that chronic condition
in me
that tormented me so frequently in my unvintaged, youthful years?
Now that I’m older, I pay it no mind, at least most of the time.
And I wonder what will happen to that compulsion when I am dead.

The Murder of Teacher Tara Grinstead

Brutally taken from this world at only 30 years of age
from either a rape and a murder or a drug addict killing
her with a deadly punch while stealing money from her
after he broke into her house and she caught him.

The real reason for her murder remains a mystery, but
at least the murderer and his accomplish who helped him burn and bury Tara’s body are both behind bars.

Beautiful woman, beautiful teacher, radiant inside and out,
loved by friends and students, said to have touched people in rare ways.
And was an inspiration with a lot of life ahead of her, who brought great things to the high school where she taught.

Seemed close to being a perfect person, a credit to humankind and all that is wholesome and good.
A woman who clearly was making a difference in this world.

After watching many true crime shows, like 48 hours, I have to wonder why so many women like her have been murdered in this world, and why so many other women are murdered in this world as well.

The only way I can reconcile this in my mind is to hope and pray
that when they died, how they went out, no matter how horrible,
no matter how tragic, won’t matter in an afterlife where they will be in a heavenly place beyond worldly cares and concerns and so incredibly happy that their awful deaths will be as if they never happened.

I’m listening to Gladys Knight Singing I’m Like a Diamond ….

that a woman I’m with treats me like glass.
And even though I’m not with a woman,
I’m going with that sentiment as if Glady is singing to me,
and I’m imagining what it would be like to be with a woman
who’d tell me she’d never never never stop loving me
and that she’s a sweet loving woman.

I find myself lulled into that romantic fantasy and drift into
a living happily ever after scenario with an idealized woman,
and for a moment I’m living in a surreal imaginative world where the notes
and the lyrics of a song and the woman singing them are real life real.

The song ends. I come to my senses as another singer in another
song interrupts my romantic reverie singing about kissing a woman all over.

Alec Baldwin’s Wife Humiliating Him

Yesterday in a news interview I saw Hilaria Baldwin
rudely say to her husband that she was talking not him
when he was saying something supportive about her.

To my surprise, Alec looked as humbled as a scolded child.
Alec Baldwin, who recently told a Trump Impersonator that he’d snap his neck if there weren’t cameras there.
And I’ve read about him going off on others as thought
he has a temper than he often cannot control

And, though I’m not a fan of his, I don’t blame him for
threatening the Trump Impersonator. The Impersonator went way too far, got too much in Baldwin’s face inappropriately, and taunted him about his accidental shooting of the set cinematographer with a prop revolver, as if he were a murderer.

As for Alec Baldwin looking like a scolded child and not reacting to what the media felt was rudeness by his wife, I can understand that.
It’s about the things you do and endure for real love.

Bigfoot as a High Primate

The Bigfoot stories keep increasing.
Even scientists have joined
The chorus of believers.
And yesterday I heard Bigfoot
Described as a high primate.
When you spend some time
Reading and listening to the
Many alleged sightings and
The people reporting them,
It really makes you wonder
If somehow Bigfoot is real
And truly a high primate.
But with all those thousands of
Alleged sightings, it’s makes
Me wonder why there is no
Definitive proof. The only
Plausible explanation I can
Possibly believe is that
Bigfoot is interdimensional.
