This Life Can Be Dangerous for Women

I watch many true crime shows, a morbid
interest perhaps.
One thing that disturbs me immeasurably is too
many women get murdered in the crime cases.
Excuse while I uncharacteristically drop an expletive:
You have to be a fucking monster to murder a woman
You have to be a fucking monster to rape a woman.
Yet too many of these monsters roam the earth
raping and murdering women every single day.
Often the monsters are husbands or boyfriends of the
murdered women, the numbers staggering.
As I wrote in a poem once before, 140 women and
girls are murdered daily in this world that can be
extremely dangerous for the loveliest of all fairer sex.
And I don’t understand why this world has to be so
unfair to all those women murdered every day.
And I cannot imagine the countless tears that have
fallen, the unceasing heartaches.
May they all go to a place in the afterlife where it
won’t matter that they were brutally taken out of
this world, where they will experience a peace and
a happiness beyond words, beyond anything imaginable.

Foolishly Romantic Moments

In foolishly romantic moments,
I wonder if a soulmate awaits me
in the afterlife.

I wonder if perfect enduring love
exists there.

I wonder if despite the many loves
that end unhappily on earth
true love flourishes in the afterlife.

Of course, that’s probably a silly
case of wishful thinking, but
would it not be like a wonderful
fairy tale come true if romantic
love was forever in the afterlife?

The Country That Erased Its Culture

The citizens agreed multiculturalism is great.
Who could argue against that?
New people, new languages, new cultures, new food.
All was grand until their government let too many
unvetted people in and kept letting them in until
their numbers exceeded those of the native
population.

Until ever increasing unvetted populations brought
rampant crime into the country like never before.
Until many of the them refused to assimilate
and established their own country and courts of law
within the country.

Despite the alarm and the warnings from the
harried populace, the government kept importing
unvetted migrants and the country began to fall
apart.

Eventually the foreigners’ numbers gave them
superior voting blocks, and they began winning
elections, defeating popular native politicians.

In the end the people lost their country to
multiculturalism gone wrong, and they lost their
rule of it.

Their culture was erased forever, their country
conquered without a shot fired.
