One of the Worst Things That Can Happen

You meet the woman you feel is
the love of your life.

The increasing days and nights
you spend with her

confirm what you felt on
that glorious day you met her.

But one day after you drop her off at her apartment,
she goes missing and foul play is suspected.

The police see you as a person of interest
as well as her ex-husband.

Both of you pass the polygraphs.
Both of you are cleared as suspects.

But the worst is when years later she is still missing,
and no one knows what happened to her,

and your heartaches never end.

She Had Seen Too Much Suffering Among the Elderly

She worked with the elderly for a living,
saw many of them suffering when old.

She saw many senioirs healthy one day
stricken with debilitating diseases the next.

She saw many who had been vibrant and active
become sick and unable to take care of themselves.

After many years of seeing tragic outcomes of aging
when she started getting older,

she opted out of aging and killed herself.

When a Woman’s Male Friend Becomes a Murderer

Watching true crime shows,
every so often I see cases

of women being killed
by supposed male friends.

To me, these are some of
the most insidious.

Someone a woman feels
she can trust

surprises her, shocks her,
kills her like a monster.

Woe to these betrayed women
who die this horrble way,

and I hope the deceiftul friends
who murdered them

one day get their due
on earth and in the hereafter.
