His Days Grow Shorter.
Time passes faster.
Death is coming for him soon
because of his advanced age.
But he’s lived long enough
to not really be concerned.
And he sees in dying
the entry into a greater life
than the life of the living.

When an elderly woman was diagnosed
with Alzheimer’s, the shock of it nearly
gave her a heart attack.
She had expected she had something wrong
with her mind.
But she hoped doctors would find a cure for it.
When she found out it was Alzheimer’s, and
no cure existed for it,
she decided to end her life by walking into
the deep water of a pond and drowning to death.
I can understand that and were I her, I’d feel
the same way, though I can’t say I’d end my life.

Somehow, a video about 20 women
who took their own lives popped up
on my YouTube front page.
Most of them were under 40, some
under 30; so tragic, so sad.
A few were elderly; one had been
diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
Practically all of them suffered from
severe depression, and I have to
wonder why, in God’s name,
many people are afflicted with that.
I hope all of them went to a place
where their depression, sorrows,
and heartaches healed forever—
a heavenly place where peace and
happiness were theirs forever.
