Leaves rustling in trees merrily
Spring breezes caressing them
Sun rays glittering on them playfully
Birds invigorated by the sunny day
Sing hundreds of amazing songs

Some fear AI will take over the world.
Others say it’s only a matter of time.
But as long as AI didn’t kill us off,
maybe it could bring peace to the world.
Maybe it could stop wars and evil humans
from desroying our planet.
I’m not too bothered about it; I’ll be gone
before anything like that happens.
And I’m kinda glad I will because I fear
humans might nuke us to death.

The need to be loved runs deep in our species.
Sometimes to the detriment of ourselves.
Sometimes even I, a monklike old man, feel
it as well, but immediately shut it down.
Though I’ve read even when old, it’s beneficial
to have a love, but I don’t fully believe it.
A love could bring eventual havoc into
an aging heart or even break an old heart.
And in the final years of one’s life, one of the
old lovers could soon die, leaving the other.
So, considering the downsides, I don’t think
love in one’s final years is worth it.
Of course, I could be wrong and missing out.

A baby is born with cancer.
Another is born with water on the brain and
will die young and be bedbound for life.
A young woman is raped and murdered.
A man becomes schizophrenic at age 23,
nothing he did to deserve it, no way to prevent it.
I ask myself, where is the fairness in these cases
and why do we have to have so many of them?
And why does suffering and evil appear to have
free reign in this transient world?
And if there is a God of Love, instead of an
impersonal one, why does that God allow it?
